Having worked in the NHS as a mental health professional for over 17 years, I have witnessed first hand the impact of bullying, social media, toxic relationships, poverty and the lack of a safe space, on the wellbeing of adults and young people.
I am currently leading the local mental health crisis response for children and young people across Wirral and Cheshire, it is this role that has led me to finally stand up and say enough is enough. The systems in place are not able to sustainably support our young people. It is part of our job as adults and parents, I have 4 children, to support and help them to navigate the world, but we could all do with a bit of help. This is where Bloom Collaborative CIC joins the foray.
I have a number of projects to develop and ideas to realise, some of which I am commencing with, in truth this is no easy fix and I do not have all of the skills, knowledge, time or resource to make them happen. Through a truly collaborative approach we can change the future for our children, to how they want it to be.
With over 17 years of experience as a mental health professional in the NHS, I have directly witnessed the detrimental impact of bullying, social media, toxic relationships, poverty, and the lack of a safe environment on the well-being of adults and young individuals. Currently, I am leading the local mental health crisis response for children and young people across Wirral and Cheshire. This role has motivated me to take a stand and declare that enough is enough, as the existing systems are unable to provide sustainable support for our youth. As adults and parents (I have four children myself), it is our responsibility to guide and assist them in navigating the world, but we could all use some additional support. This is where Bloom Collaborative CIC comes into play.
I have several projects and ideas to develop and realize, some of which I am already initiating. However, this is no easy task, and I do not possess all the necessary skills, knowledge, time, or resources to accomplish them alone. Through a truly collaborative approach, we can shape a better future for our children, one that aligns with their aspirations.
Our mission
We're on a mission to improve our young peoples lives and to help them develop their future society.
Our vision
We want to live in a world where our young people are safe, can be heard and listened to, and where they can enjoy their childhood.
Here is an emotionally-led mission statement based on improving young people's lives and helping them develop their future society:
Our Passion Fuels Their Promise
At the core of our being is an unwavering belief that every young person deserves to thrive. We are driven by a burning desire to unleash their vast potential and empower them to shape a society that reflects their hopes and dreams.
Our mission stems from the heart - a profound love for the next generation and an unshakable commitment to nurturing their growth. We will be their fiercest advocates, their trusted allies, removing obstacles and creating fertile soil for their talents to blossom.
With courage, compassion and an insatiable spirit, we vow to illuminate their path forward. We will equip them with the tools, skills and self-belief to author their own narratives. Our work will be an eternal investment in their tomorrows.
Together, hand in hand with our remarkable youth, we will co-create a world brimming with possibility, justice and joy. Their future is our true calling. Let our life's purpose energize their soaring ambitions.
Here is a vision statement capturing the desire to create a world where young people are safe, heard, listened to, and able to enjoy their childhood:
A World Where Childhood Shines
We envision a world that reverently upholds childhood as a sanctified time - a universe where young lives unfold in total safety and freedom.
In this reality, children dwell in calm harbors, shielded from storms that could diminish their innocent spirits. Their laughter rings out as the purest celebration of joy.
Our vision encompasses compassionate communities that not only hear children's voices, but lean in closely to truly listen. Every utterance, every question is received as a jewel, cultivating understanding between generations.
In this cherished existence, childhood is a unhurried journey of discovery, creativity and secure attachment. Young people feel deeply seen, valued and able to simply be in their magnificence.
We hold a daring dream of recreating human society as a loving guardianship of its youngest members. Where curiosity is stoked, emotions are tended, and childhoods flourish into inspiring testimonies of what's possible when we fiercely protect their rainbow-hued years.
This is the world we wish to breathe into being - one where the untrammeled magic and wisdom of young souls illuminates all of our tomorrows.

A pragmatic idealist is someone who holds strong idealistic values and beliefs, but also approaches them with a practical, realistic mindset. They have a vision for a better world or society, but also understand the complexities and challenges involved in manifesting that vision.
Some key characteristics of a pragmatic idealist:
Aspirational thinking: They think big and imagine ambitious, idealistic possibilities for positive change and progress. However, their ideals are grounded in reality rather than being purely fanciful notions.
Balanced perspective: While holding firm to their core idealistic principles, they can also take a step back and analyze situations objectively and pragmatically. They seek reasonable, achievable solutions.
Strategic planning: Pragmatic idealists develop concrete strategies and action plans to incrementally move towards their ideals over time. They set feasible goals and benchmarks.
Openness to compromise: They realize that their perfect ideal may need to be moderated or compromised at times to make progress. They're willing to start with incremental or imperfect steps in the right direction.
Resilience: When faced with obstacles or setbacks, they persist and adapt rather than abandoning their ideals entirely. They find alternative pragmatic paths forward.
Coalition building: They seek to bring others aboard by communicating their ideals in practical, relatable terms and finding common ground solutions that unite different perspectives.
A pragmatic idealist essentially strives to harmonize their optimistic vision for a better world with a clear-eyed, realistic assessment of the current situation and what's possible. Their idealism fuels their motivation while their pragmatism helps manifest positive change through concrete, viable means.
